Aqua Polymers products

Four bases in the catalogue — polyester, polycarbonate and polyether — plus the development of formulations to customer specification.

Alongside the products already in range, Aqua Polymers develops and synthesises high-quality dispersions to meet the specific requirements of each customer. The four families described below are the most frequent starting points: custom variants can be derived from any of them.

Non-yellowing. A polyurethane dispersion free from free isocyanate, designed for base layers that need to stay flexible over time.

  • Natural leather, base coat
  • Laminated fabrics, textile industry
  • Finishing, impregnation
Solids content 59–61% Product data

A polycarbonate base for coatings that need to withstand hydrolysis and abrasion longer than average.

  • Natural leather, top coat
  • Non-porous substrates: PVC, rubber, ABS
  • Wood and metal coating
Solids content 35% Product data

From laboratory to plant

A formulation built around your process.

We do not start from a price list to be forced into your production cycle. We start from the result you need on the substrate.

Laboratory trial

Small-scale synthesis and a sample to be validated on your own line before any order.

Production scale

Plants with different production capacities, from a trial batch to continuous supply.

Frequently asked questions

The questions we hear most

Four: soft aliphatic polyester, aliphatic polyester top coat, anionic aliphatic polycarbonate top coat and anionic polyether base coat.
It depends on the polyol used in the synthesis. Polyester offers good mechanical properties and adhesion; polyether has better hydrolysis resistance and stays more flexible at low temperatures; polycarbonate gives the highest resistance to hydrolysis and abrasion.
It is the percentage by weight of material left after the water has evaporated, which forms the film. A higher value means more polymer per kilogram of product and less water to evaporate during drying.
Yes. Standard practice is to supply a sample to be validated on the customer's own line before any supply.
